The Wing is looking for a driven, collaborative, and highly motivated Business Development Manager to join our London team. This person will report into the Growth team and work closely with the New Space Opening teams to deepen our understanding of new markets, identify areas of opportunities, and establish meaningful relationships within the community. This person will serve as our first hire on the ground and will be responsible for forming connections with current and prospective members, as well as with local organizations, businesses, and/or influential community leaders ahead of location opening.


Those energized by creating new connections, and maintaining lasting, enriching relationships will excel in this role. The ideal candidate thrives in guiding others towards the discovery of products and services, and provides a friendly and warm welcome to what The Wing stands for.


    • Proactively identify new potential members and make first contact to generate interest.
    • Set meetings with local influencers, thought leaders, business owners, vendors, etc to drive membership
    • Attend local networking/community events to identify potential sources of members and forge community connections.
    • Meet with prospective Wing members to discuss/answer questions about the new location and core value propositions for membership.
    • Begin to curate a network of high-profile relationships for potential event activations when the space opens.
    • Host small gatherings and events for prospective members, fostering a sense of community before the physical space opens and encouraging new members to join.
    • Meet with HR and Culture teams at larger organizations for corporate membership selling opportunities, lunch & learn opportunities.
    • Partner with The Wing’s Civic Engagement and Diversity and Inclusion teams to come up with innovative ways for The Wing to deliver on its mission in the local market.
    • Serve as an information conduit from new location to all involved parties at HQ (Growth, NSO, marketing, etc), relaying key local trends and intel based on community personalities, habits, and demographics.


    • 5-8 years of experience in business development, sales, or community building with a focus on cultivating meaningful and impactful relationships at scale
    • A strong, diverse network of contacts in the London area across multiple industries
    • Develops personal relationships quickly, with a focus on delivering value
    • Strong, concise writing skills and excellent presentation experience
    • Excellent organizational, project management, time management skills with ability to manage multiple tasks and relationships at once
    • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver constructive feedback to multiple parties and personalities
    • Hospitality-level attention to detail
    • Humble, self-motivated, enthusiastic, independent
    • Excellent analytical skills, self starter attitude, inquisitive nature, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; willingness to experiment often and pivot as needed.
    • Positive, energetic; ability to light up a room or event
    • Past experience nurturing relationships after conversion
    • Willingness to travel for new space openings
    • Deep understanding of company and brand functions & fierce dedication to the mission and ideals of The Wing
