Ruby Cup is an award-winning social menstrual health business that produces and sells menstrual cups around the world. Our mission is to enable all people to live their periods safely and with dignity, regardless of their income. We provide a sustainable menstrual health solution, we dismantle menstrual taboos and deliver sound education on reproductive health and menstrual care.

Founded in 2012, we work and distribute in over 40 countries around the world. Our pioneering model is based on a ‘Buy One, Give One’ concept, for every cup that is purchased, another cup is donated to someone without access to period products. 

We’re a small, dynamic and committed team based in Barcelona, Nairobi, and London. Our work environment is characterized by a flat hierarchy and a high degree of flexibility. This allows for remote working and flexible office hours and also calls for independent and strong self-driven work ethics. 

 

What is the job description and responsibilities?

We are looking for an experienced Content Manager, who has the ability to think both creatively and analytically. As the Content Manager, your role will be the key driver for creating leads and revenue through excellent online storytelling and communication. 

Duties include producing and publishing content, writing, editing and proofreading, formulating content strategies and other tasks.

You should be comfortable finding creative ways of building an online presence, as well as using analytics in the formulation of sales funnels and content strategy. Here, content is defined as online articles, blog posts, images or videos that drive online engagement.

Responsibilities:

  • Writing, editing and proofreading content.
  • Formulating a cross-platform content strategy.
  • Develop sales funnels using content marketing to drive sales and conversion. 
  • Brainstorm with team members to develop new ideas.
  • Build a following on social media.
  • Monitor, listen and respond to users in a “Social” way while cultivating leads and sales.
  • Provide editorial, creative and technical support to team members.
  • Work with our data analyst to analyse campaigns and translate data into recommendations for revising social media, content strategy and SEO.
  • Manage content across all platforms, including email and social media.

Key requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or related field.
  • 3-4 years relevant experience.
  • Excellent written skills in English (fluent / native).
  • Adept at keyword placement and SEO best practices.
  • Experience with eCommerce sales funnels 
  • In-depth experience with social media management, especially Instagram and YouTube.
  • Creativity and the ability to develop original content that provokes engagement.
  • Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side, able to demonstrate why your ideas are analytically sound.
  • Ability to apply a confident and respectful tone of voice when dealing with sensitive topics. 
  • Proactive and self-directed with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Good organizational and time-management skills.

Preferred but not required:

  • German speaker, other languages.
  • Eye for visual design.
  • Experience with influencer and/or affiliate marketing.
  • PR experience.
