The Wing’s Design Director will drive the brand's visual identity through the development of original concepts, art direction, and designs for brand activations, collateral, environmental graphics, social media, retail, photoshoots, email campaigns, and more. The Design Director will manage a team of designers and build consensus and alignment on creative to be presented cross-departmentally and to senior management.

Success in this role rests on eagerness to produce beautiful and meaningful design work, bring boldness and innovation to creative challenges, and the ability to maintain a safe and supportive work environment while also driving the design team to produce quality work in a timely manner.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Continue to solidify and strengthen the brand's visual identity by developing innovative design concepts while remaining true to the brand's core identity
  • Oversee and maintain the quality of all internal and external branded collateral
  • Work with designers to bring their best work forward through mentorship, collaboration, and constructive criticism
  • Translate The Wing's brand identity into in-space signage and environmental design working in collaboration with The Wing's architects and interior designers
  • Work hand-in-hand with the Growth and Marketing team to develop creative campaigns that fuel company growth
  • Oversee the accuracy and quality of mechanical files for the production of various print and signage projects
  • Mobilize the design team on projects with fast turnaround times and encourage an open environment for feedback
  • Present design work and concepts in an engaging, convincing way that gets other teams and core leadership on board
  • Monitor the Design team’s budget to ensure all projects are delivered within the projected quantitative and qualitative parameters
  • Conceptualize with and take direction from the Creative Director to push forward and expedite projects
  • Partner closely with the adjacent Design Director to ensure creative cohesion, cross-team collaboration, and workflow alignment
  • Collaborate with the Director of Creative Strategy to develop strategic work that pushes boundaries and meets core brand objectives
  • Work closely with the Creative Production Manager to meet deadlines and manage schedules for multiple cross-departmental projects


  • 7+ years of experience working in graphic design
  • 1+ years experience in a design management role with at least 2 direct reports
  • A portfolio that demonstrates relevant skills and technical proficiency in visual branding, print, digital, and environmental design.

Direct reports include:

  • 1 Senior Graphic Designer
  • Two Graphic Designers
  • Junior Designer (yet to be hired)
