Galvanize is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Events & Marketing Manager to market and sell our event spaces on campus to external tech event organizers, and oversee the management and execution of these events. . We are looking for an innovative thinker who is laser-focused on hitting KPIs, with experience in selling and developing events that attract new customers, cross-sell to existing customers, and progresses sales pipelines to deliver outstanding business results. The ideal candidate is strategic, has demonstrated experience in event and brand marketing, lead and revenue generation, digital and social media planning, and facilities & hospitality management. Experience in consistently exceeding revenue and sentiment targets, and experience creating and managing a high-volume events lead pipeline through to conversion are must-haves to be successful in this role. The ideal candidate will thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic setting, and will want to be a critical part of a scaling business.


  • Market and sell Galvanize as premier destination for tech, innovation, and entrepreneurial events.
  • Create and execute an end-to-end marketing and event strategy and activities which support the objectives of our business.
  • Deliver event and training experiences that differentiate Galvanize, allow direct prospect engagement with our offerings, and result in measurable attendee conversion.
  • Curate on-campus events and programming that drive community engagement and educational opportunities for existing and potential members and students (i.e. innovation, startup development, web programming, data science, women/diversity in tech, big data, venture capital, social good in tech, etc.).
  • Translate organizational and campus business goals and objectives into marketing and event plans that deliver engagement, leads, pipeline, and revenue.
  • Drive revenue through student, member, and partner lead generation, activation, and conversion.
  • Develop and deliver breakthrough ideas and innovative event activities / tactics that attract new buyers and drive engagement.
  • Apply analytics and insights to better understand attendees, their behaviors and interests, and improve engagement - driving the continual optimization of future events, strategies, and plans.
  • Work to analyze and identify the root cause and action plans to address event and staff performance issues and drive continual improvement.
  • Hospitably engage event inquiries.
  • Own and oversee the master booking calendar for all events, ensuring available space, staffing, inventory, etc.
  • Manage contracts, scheduling, and payment via Tripleseat.
  • Develop marketing strategy for events and programs (newsletter content, social media plan, email nurture, retargeting campaigns, etc.) and use requisite marketing channels, including content, PPC, SEO, etc.
  • Ensure that local efforts are aligned with the Galvanize Marketing Team’s efforts at HQ, and that they both connect to a powerful narrative that resonates with key audiences.  
  • Attend and manage on-the-ground important events and maintain strong, collaborative relationships with a diverse range of partners to ensure flawless execution, represent our brand and influence at multiple levels of the organization.
  • Collaborate with Evangelist, Program Director, and Galvanize’s Education staff to drive and execute on Galvanize’s student lead generating events.
  • Collaborate with Membership Manager and Member Success Manager to execute internal marketing of community-focused programming, global and cross-campus innovation programs, as well as members-only events.
  • Collaborate with Event Managers on other campuses to implement cross-campus event planning, as well as strategic pricing for cross-member events
  • Track, measure, and report event performance against agreed-upon metrics.
  • Manage the overall creation and execution of events on budget, on time and on target to a high degree of sponsor satisfaction.
  • Manage the Cafe and Catering lines of business to deliver full service to event and programming clients.
  • Communicate effectively, on a regularly scheduled cadence, to ensure stakeholder alignment.


  • 4+ years of operations and events management experience, preferably in a fast-paced hotel, restaurant, or professional event planning environment
  • Demonstrated experience meeting revenue targets, and growing businesses YoY.
  • Demonstrated experience driving revenue via marketing, outreach and sales.
  • Successful history of lead generation.
  • Available to work events (day, evening, weekend) as business demands.
