Maria 0-1 Address: Helsinki, Finland Lapinlahdenkatu 16, 00180
Salary €3,000 - €6,000
Are you a junior to senior level full-stack developer who wants to make a real impact on the world? If your answer is "Yes", we're looking for you! ResQ Club is a Finnish service for surplus food on a mission to reduce food waste to zero at restaurants, cafes, and grocery stores – globally. Through us, customers in four countries and five languages are purchasing thousands of portions of food that would otherwise go to waste – every day.
Our culture rests on taking care of people, being self-organised and efficient. We will onboard you thoroughly and help you when needed, but we do appreciate people who can make independent decisions and develop their own work.
The whole company operates in 8-week cycles:
2 weeks for planning and deciding cycle projects
6 weeks for doing those projects, with bi-weekly demos to showcase what's been done
Everyone in the company has the power and therefore responsibility to suggest projects
We have a nice, newly renovated office in the centre of Helsinki's hottest startup hub, Maria 01. With us, everyone's entitled to paid holiday right from the get-go – and we want to make sure that you actually use your holiday. We also have the usual stuff: laptop, phone, lunch benefit, free coffee at the office and the rest. We have flexible working hours, and sometimes we work remotely, but mainly the work will take place at the office between 8–18 Finnish time.
And what's even better: if we choose you, your wardrobe is completed with a Limited Edition™ ResQ Club t-shirt and sweater!
Backend and frontend development of ResQ
Building and maintaining internal tools
Designing and planning future features
Saving the world one portion at a time, and having fun while doing it
Our hopes for your background & skills:
You can be a senior developer with a solid background, a hungry-to-learn junior or something in between those
Extra credit for familiarity with shell scripting and iOS/Android development
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English (Finnish and Swedish a plus)
Here is a list of things your future colleagues would love to see in you:
You have a life outside work – you think "37.5 hours a week working is enough"
The sort of person that likes to leave the code base in a better shape than before touching it
You understand and enjoy complex systems (think service architecture, build pipelines, internal development workflows)
You enjoy working with others and tackling problems together as a team
High work ethic: we are not here to monitor your performance, but encourage you to do your best
Please note, that clicking "Apply" in The Hub is only the first step – after that, you will receive a link to website that contains a bit more information on the job, the application process and an external application form. We do this to keep the process equal for all applicants, no matter where they see this job opening.
We are not "hiring as we speak". The application period ends on 10.5.2020 and no decisions will be made before that.
We'd prefer you to start on 1.6.2020, but we go candidate-first and adjust the starting date if needed! And to be honest, the COVID-19 pandemic might also play a role here, as we would love to onboard you at our office instead of doing it remotely.
If you have any questions regarding this job, please use "Full-stack developer" as the e-mail's subject line.
