The Wing is seeking a strategic and entrepreneurial HR Director to develop and oversee HR support for our quickly growing team. Reporting directly to the VP of People, this person will play a foundational role in ideating, building, and scaling the core People/HR function of our organization for continued national and international growth. You will help hire and manage a team that supports operational partners and business partners while building and implementing HR solutions that create a best place to work environment in line with our mission. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:






  • Work with the people operations, talent acquisition, and learning and development teams to create strategic initiatives that support our dynamic employee base
  • Work closely with business partners to implement HR solutions such as talent reviews, succession planning, performance reviews, engagement initiatives, and growth plans across the company
  • Collaborate with business partners to ensure talent strategies are connected to key business objectives
  • Identify + diagnose talent and organizational issues
  • Provide recommendations around talent needs and business opportunities, and implement talent solutions
  • Mitigate organizational risk through the development, improvement, and implementation of HR compliance processes 
  • Oversee employee conduct, performance, and dispute resolution
  • May include leading employee investigations and ensure appropriate outcomes and follow-up
  • Create and implement scalable and engaging performance review processes for all employees
  • Serve as an advisor and coach to business leaders and managers around hiring needs, people management and development
  • Lead process to identify high potential talent and ensure their continued development and advancement
  • Partner with leaders to ensure a solid succession plan is in place for all critical roles
  • Develop and partner to lead training across multiple levels and topics
  • Lead talent calibration efforts to ensure a nimble and high-performing culture
  • Analyze data and trends in turnover reporting to improve regional retention and engagement
  • Assess culture and develop action plans to ensure a positive, engaging, and supportive workplace
  • Support the development of company policies and training that address people priorities
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding initiatives that are connected and aligned with our mission 
  • Ensure local People practices complies with the company handbook, federal, state and local laws
  • Support total rewards initiatives through education, implementation, and follow-up 
  • Conduct investigations and provide recommendations and insights to the leadership team
  • Analyze root cause to reduce future risk


  • 10+ years experience in an HR Business Partner role
  • Experience working with a multi-state employer and large hourly population a plus
  • Prior hospitality experience
  • Ability to navigate complexity in a regional capacity and successfully lead change initiatives
  • Experience with large, company-wide program implementation
  • Experience developing and managing performance management systems
  • Experienced in building business partnerships, investing in relationships, and quickly building trust amongst teams and leaders
  • Results-driven, intrinsically motivated individual with a passion for people and business

  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical, problem solving and decision making skills

  • Ability to multi-task and manage more than one cross-functional and mission-critical project at one time

  • Provides clear feedback to peers, partners, and senior leadership to protect the brand
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in Excel, keynote/PowerPoint
  • Ability to travel as needed - minimum 25% of the time
