  • You find doing repeatable tasks enjoyable, therapeutic, and meaningful.
  • You are excited to work in the middle of downtown Austin and have reliable transportation.
  • You are a problem solver. You look for ways to make things work better and how to turn chaos into systems.
  • You have a reliable laptop computer and smartphone.
  • You must be available during SXSW (Spring Break) and Startup Week (the week between Austin City Limits Music Fest).
  • You get to Inbox Zero every day.
  • You are available in person to work 15 - 20 hours per week during business hours and after hours as needed.
  • You plan to stay in Austin and in this position for at least three months.

Required Skills

  • Organization, politeness and poise in a sometimes hectic environment
  • Familiarity with Google Apps (email, calendar, drive, etc.), Slack and Facebook
  • Ability to multi-task and take initiative

Required Duties

  • Creating and executing all community engagement events
  • Coordinating all CE events and marketing them to members
  • Moving desks
  • Placing/Removing name cards
  • Communicating with Facilities
  • Answering member questions about their experiences on site
  • A managerial approach to problem solving
  • Assisting with planning and executing new member orientations

Typical day

  • Check emails
  • Send out lead generation emails from tours
  • Onboard/offboard members
  • Place/remove desk tents
  • Plan e-mail campaigns on Mailchimp
  • Plan the next Community Showcase
  • Post on FB/Slack about community events/day-of perks
  • Assist with other tasks like tours, facilities, events
  • Various projects with department heads.
Part time
