We help amazing startups grow, thrive and succeed. We do that by offering space, advice, facilities and opportunities to the startups and entrepreneurs who work with us.

Right now our community of 1,500 members work, meet, think (and occasionally) drink from our four thriving locations in London and Bristol.

We’re lucky enough to work with the most innovative, exciting and passionate entrepreneurs in the UK, and we’re on the hunt for an ambitious, meticulous sales person with flawless people skills.

The Job: The Nitty Gritty

This job is all about using great people skills to get great results, for both us and our customers. From identifying fantastic entrepreneurs who are the right fit to join us to guiding them through how we will help their businesses succeed, this role lives and dies on the ability to see what people need, and delivering it.

The Membership Sales Manager is the face of the whole operation,and alongside the rest of the sales team you’ll be responsible for finding and signing up great new members, maintaining fantastic relationships with our existing members and coming up with new ways to improve everything we do.

What You’ll Be Doing

Finding great new potential members

  • Be it a recommendation from a member or someone you find at an event, you’ll always be looking to make contact with leading entrepreneurs and startups and spotting opportunities to show them how Runway East can help them grow.

Powering up our membership

  • You’ll follow up on leads with grace and tact, guiding them through our spaces and services, right through to them signing on the dotted (digital) line, leading to high conversion rates and happy members who stay with us forever, or until they outgrow us, whichever comes first.

Retaining top members

  • We believe strongly that sales doesn’t end when the contract is signed - you’ll be a friendly face to everyone you bring on board (as well as existing members), making sure they feel loved and ensuring when the all important time comes for them to renew their membership, it’s a no-brainer to stay with us.

Generally kicking ass

  • It’s not just about getting people in, or even making sure they stay. It’s about waking up every day thinking - ‘how can we make our service better?’ Putting feedback structures in place, conducting exit interviews and working with Sales, Marketing and Community to experiment with new ways of delighting our members

You’re charming, passionate and smart, with a heap of emotional intelligence and a love of people. You’re curious, charismatic and you know how to put people at ease. You like getting to the bottom of what people need, you ask questions, and you love making people happy. You are as comfortable approaching someone at an event as you are crafting a killer subject line, keeping a finger on the pulse and coming up with new ideas to attract the very best talent the UK tech scene has to offer.

A diligent business brain

Ideally you’ve got experience working in business development, tracking sales, understanding conversion rates - as well as the determination to always do better. You’re powered by results and excited about finding new ways to experiment and improve the system.

Community obsessed

You love making links, making connections - finding ways to bring like-minded people together. You’ll keep a close eye on relations within our growing portfolio of brilliant entrepreneurs, asking questions, getting involved and finding ways of making new introductions and forging new opportunities.

Most of all, we need someone who will throw their all into our mission. We need someone who will join us in going above and beyond to build something great.
