With 9 fully occupied sites in highly sought-after areas including Shoreditch, Old Street, Mayfair and Clerkenwell, and several new sites in the pipeline, we are excited to open up the opportunity to join our tight-knit team as Senior Management Accountant.

The Role:

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be a key member of the Finance Team supporting change and continual improvement within the department and the Company. The main purpose of your role is to support the company management in ensuring financial processes and controls are adhered to within the organisation and maintaining the accuracy and completeness of the finance system and ledger to enable accurate Financial Reporting. You will also be supporting the Finance Director in managing the commercial transactional requirements of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting

  • Ensure that the Finance System (Xero) is accurate and complete
  • Ensure that management reporting tasks are completed by the deadline, such as journals and all balance sheet reconciliations
  • Ensure that month-end processes are adhered to and performed in a timely manner to ensure the production of management accounts
  • Process periodical VAT returns
  • Submit to the Finance Director monthly consolidated reporting for review and address any queries as they arise

Development

  • Assist in the automation of systems and the introduction of other tech-based solutions with the goal of improving existing finance processes and management visibility
  • Review and improve internal control procedures for efficiency and greater financial control
  • Continuously looking for improvements to current processes 

Management

  • Management of the Accounts Assistant
  • Reviewing the Accounts Assistants balance sheet reconciliations and querying anomalies 
  • Manage company payroll
  • Ensure that all financial processes and controls are adhered to companywide
  • Create a 'best practice' culture that promotes innovation and accountability

Financial Analysis

  • Manage weekly cash flow against cash flow forecasts
  • Perform cost and revenue analysis when required, assist in setting departmental and project budgets, and ensure that budgets are adhered to
  • Conduct financial analysis and create relevant forecasts for new developments under consideration
  • Perform aged debtor analysis and ensure any aged debt is brought to the attention of key management personnel to recover the debt

Your Background and Experience:

  • Experience as a Senior Management Accountant in an SME
  • Qualified ACCA or Cima
  • Commercially focused and understand the demands of growing SME’s
  • Previous experience producing reports for external lenders/investors a plus
  • Experience using Xero (preferred but not essential)
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly organised and able to meet deadlines
  • Great customer service skills and a desire to meet or exceed customers’ expectations
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise a busy and diverse workload
  • Self-Motivation with a Can-do attitude and a pro-active approach to getting things done
  • Excellent communication skills, both on the telephone and in writing
  • The ability to work well as part of a team and also independently and unsupervised
  • Strong IT and computer skills (Excel, accounting software)
  • Be able to meet deadlines and reach targets and to work in a fast pace environment
  • Personable and willing to help
