What is Beta-i?

Lisbon is a growing international hub and Beta-i is one of its’ key players! After 10 years of laying down and growing the field, we are now a team of 50+ people, all working towards the same goal of nurturing the innovation ecosystem. The Challenge: Growing our Community

We are seeking a qualified community manager to help us expand, qualify and nurture our national and international network of startups and entrepreneurs, and connect the dots within our amazing community in our rad hub and beyond.

If you are a networking and event curation pro and experienced in startups and the ecosystem we would like to meet you!

Our ideal candidate has exceptional oral and written communication skills and is able to develop meaningful relationships with startups, event hosts, suppliers, and of course, the Beta-i team. You should excel at understanding and pursuing relationships that make sense for our awesomely inspiring community and ultimately build the company’s brand, both online and offline.

What will you do?

  • Create content to engage with our savvy community – this includes writing blog posts, articles, interviews with community players, newsletters, communications materials, etc. for distribution through social media
  • Organize and participate in events to build community and boost brand awareness
  • Align marketing and communications strategies to guarantee increased community engagement with the brand
  • Cultivate a strong community while helping us deliver the highest quality startups for our programs
  • Coordinate with marketing, biz dev, and our hub to optimize lead generation for Beta-i's business units
  • Stay up-to-date with the local and international ecosystems and identify opportunities for Beta-i and our partners
  • Activate Beta-i’s international network to reach interesting startups, mentors, and speakers from around the world, and build new relationships

What should you bring with you?

  • Proven success as a community manager
  • Proven experience as an event planner
  • Strong project management skills
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English, speaking and writing (native English a plus)
  • Strong communicator in person and by email
  • Experience with social media tools including Facebook, Instragram, EventBrite, Meetup
  • Engaging public speaker
  • Eager to network
  • Enthusiastic about the startup scene
  • Ambition, motivation, off-the-charts energy and an eagerness to learn fast
  • Sense of humor
  • Bonus points: experience as an entrepreneur!
