Your role The Finance Director is responsible for the strategic financial direction of Work.life; partnering with the MD & leadership team to grow the business and leading on the delivery of accurate & efficient day-to-day finance operations. You will have a breadth of experience in 'Number 1' finance leadership roles, ready to apply this knowledge to execute quickly in a high-growth, fast-paced environment as we look to scale the Work.Life product into new locations & territories. Your day to day Business Strategy · Key contributor to the development of the overall business strategy, ensuring strong commercial outcomes and delivery of strategic & financial targets · Build & deliver a financial strategy to meet post fundraise goals and timelines across both local and future global markets · Deliver the on-time, to forecast expectations of Work.life's short & longer term financial growth plan. New Acquisition · Actively support the development and review of commercial proposals and strategic business cases · Evaluate cost & benefit of new acquisition opportunities, overseeing any associated due diligence. Fundraising · Further develop the corporate fundraising strategy & manage relationships with partners, banks & investors · Maximise growth opportunities by optimising internal & external sources of working capital. Financial Reporting · Drive consistency, clarity and scalability of financial reporting & KPIs across weekly, monthly, quarterly & annual reporting · Oversee processes for accurate & timely external stakeholder reporting, in particular to our landlord partners, our banks, and institutional investors. Financial Control · Oversee all audit requirements & internal controls. Team · Support & coach the team, offering clear direction and career development · Oversee workflow management of the team, with particular attention to Financial Control · Lead the team in developing a culture of continuous process improvement and efficiency, to include the implementation of new finance systems and business projects.

What early success will look like for you

  • Evaluate cost and benefit of new freehold & leasehold acquisition opportunities in line with FY24 growth and oversee any associated financial due diligence
  • Lead on the delivery of the annual budget and re-forecast processes, ensuring budgets are met by overseeing with FC that necessary internal controls are in place
  • Ensure that a successional Finance team is developed post-fundraise to meet the growing needs of the business and to ensure priority towards internal career development
  • Build in new processes for accurate & timely external stakeholder reporting to include more detailed reporting for new institutional investors.

  • Your Experience

  • You’ll have a relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) & more than likely have progressed your career through financial control
  • You’ll have successfully led a finance function as the Number 1 role with experience taking a business through a growth journey a
