Your role

This part time Finance Director role is responsible the strategic financial direction of the business and to support the existing Financial Controller and the wider team with day-to-day finance operations and to manage and grow the finance team as the business grows.

You will have gained a breadth of experience through senior finance roles and you will be able to apply these in a high-growth environment.

 

Your day to day

  • Support Financial Controller with day-to-day finance operations including review of the month end process as well as production of key weekly financial reports
  • Ad-hoc new business case support. (e.g. new property business cases)
  • Finance business process. Continuous review of controls and underlying finance systems to determine ways to improve efficiency and reduce costs
  • Support & coach Financial Controller with technical issues and general support to ensure she and the wider finance team are fully supported on an ongoing basis

 

What will success look like for you

  • You’ll devise and implement a finance strategy in line with post-COVID recovery plan and with business goals
  • You’ll consider cost and benefit of new business opportunities and manage business cases
  • You’ll ensure budgets are met and we hit expenditure targets across the business using necessary controls
  • Finally, you’ll up-skill our current Financial Controller in her skillset and career development

 

About you

  • You’ll have a relevant accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) from a top Practice
  • You’ll have at least 8 years in finance functions in hands-on, high-growth environments
  • You’ll be experienced in building and implementing financial processes at scale
  • You’ll have a proven track record of implementing and leading a performance-based culture & providing training and support to line managers
  • You’ll be able to focus on Work.Life as a single project on a part-time basis – this is not a contract role
