Fashion for Good is seeking an Intern who will be responsible for scouting and evaluating new and existing material and wet processing innovations and supporting the innovation manager in their day to day activities. The focus area for scouting will predominately be alternative raw materials and wet processing. The intern will be part of the Fashion for Good innovation team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Scouting and Evaluating Start-ups
  • Scout start-up innovators to further strengthen our innovator database in selected focus areas
  • Screen start-up innovators based on Fashion for Good’s established due diligence framework as part of the evaluation process for the scaling programme
  • Supporting Innovation Team
  • Assist Fashion for Good’s Innovation Manager in the creation of the deliverables outlined in the innovator’s roadmap to scale (i.e. technical feasibility, lifecycle assessment, financial analysis: return on investments, impact analysis, project management, etc.)
  • Assist in general Innovation Platform activities (including operations and day to day business activities)
  • Assist in the creation of the due diligence reporting for our corporate partners
  • Hands on support with the organisation of the events (i.e. innovation fest) organised by Fashion for Good.
  • SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

    The ideal candidate combines strong interpersonal skills with a self-starting, pro-active attitude. The following qualifications are essential:

  • Strong knowledge of material science
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • A basic understanding of the supply chain & the fashion industry
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills
  • Capacity to work in a demanding and multicultural environment
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • A pro-active, enthusiastic, can-do attitude and comfortable dealing with uncertainty
  • The following experience is a plus:

    relevant work experience (e.g. internships: 0-1 years) in research and development, management

    consulting, sustainability, the apparel industry or an entrepreneurial / start-up setting.

    EDUCATION
    Academic degree preferably within material science, chemistry, mechanical engineering, textile engineering or biotechnology. Please note that all our internships require that you are enrolled in tertiary study for the duration of the internship.

    LANGUAGES
    Proficiency in English is a requirement.
