About The Opportunity

The Global Lease Management team is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of WeWork’s Real Estate portfolio. The team supports a diverse set of company needs from basic management of leases, lease input and tracking, lease review and abstracting, accounting and processes, lease security, lease audits and lease renewal options to enable the company to make strategic real estate decisions that support WeWork’s expansion and growth. Reporting to the Global Senior Manager of Lease Administration, this position plays a critical role in ensuring overall team organization, effectiveness and success in managing International lease payments, lease related VAT, and lease related taxes (including local/municipal taxes).

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews rent roll submissions within lease administration platform based on comprehensive understanding of lease language

  • Regional process reviewer for lease related financial transactions with landlords

  • Ongoing and proactive communication with regional landlords regarding complex profit/revenue share, abatement, credit application, and general rent payment execution

  • Conducts reconciliation and financial analysis/accounting of payment schedules to outbound cash, including AR/AP, rent rolls, and budgets

  • Prepares and distributes periodic and ad hoc lease financial reports in a timely and accurate manner utilizing various reporting tools within the G-Suite

  • Supports strategic lease portfolio projects while acting as a facilitator between involved parties when relevant

  • Identifies and tracks ad hoc projects needed for to ensure savings on lease related financial transactions are maximized. Including historical ledger reviews and Tenant Allowance collections

  • Leads meetings with outsourced team members including roll-out of educational items and updates to fit with the changing needs of the Business

  • Facilitates payment of outsourcing partner invoices based on General Terms & Conditions, in conjunction with the Scope of Work (SOW).

  • Focuses on recovery of VAT in global scope, specifically EMEA & Canada

  • Leads the management of operational taxes levied by regional and municipal tax authorities ensuring timely information submissions and payments

  • Leads the coordination of compliance dashboarding and reporting

  • Ensures the management of operational taxes is in accordance with lease provisions, taking action and communicating as necessary

  • Acts as the central point of contact (internally and externally) for lease reporting, financials and lease related compliance obligations (VAT compliant invoicing for example) particularly as it relates to tax reporting and compliance for both VAT and corporate tax

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to report on regional relief mechanisms and actualized recoveries

  • Recommends annual strategy for regional based programs using historical successes and third-party input on industry best practice

  • Establishes and maintains working relationship with internal stakeholders, landlords and subtenants

  • About You

  • Preference of Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or Finance

  • Have a minimum 1 year of work experience in lease administration, accounting or property management

  • Expertise in understanding and interpreting complex commercial lease language

  • Advanced proficiency in G-Suite (GoogleSheets/GoogleDocs/GoogleSlides) with the capability to master company specific accounting and database programs

  • Strong financial and analytical skills

  • Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills

  • Ability to understand and interpret data

  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and within a team to build relationships and interact effectively with business partners

  • Ability to multitask, work successfully under pressure and effectively manage time and Workload

  • A desire to work within a diverse, collaborative, and driven professional environment

  • Bilingual in German and or French a plus
